There are two recommended CVS Clients to access the MBARI CVS Respository including: WinCVS and SmartCVS.   Both clients work for all major operating systems including Windows, Macintosh, and Linux systems. The key bits of information to use when setting up either client are the following:

  • Your access method needs to be set to pserver (SmartCVS) or passwd file on server (WinCVS)
  • User  (Your MBARI user/e-mail account, e.g., salamy)
  • Repository Server (MBARI CVS Repository is hosted on moonjelly.shore.mbari.org)
  • CVSROOT (/home/cvs)

Thus, the full CVSROOT path for user salamy would be:    salamy@moonjelly.shore.mbari.org:/home/cvs
